About this class
In these classes you will learn techniques for planning, designing, drawing, and painting water in various scenic settings. In each class you will paint one of four subjects- Still River with Mountains, Still Lake with Cormorant, Tall Trees with Creek or Waterfall with Rocky Outcrop.
Across 2 x 2hour sessions (Tuesday evenings or Saturday arvo), you will discover how to select a composition and plan your painting workflow. What comes first and what to do next, leading to a rich and alluring result. Learn the design rules and brush techniques for painting water in the landscape. Explore and develop other painting methods to support your waterscape paintings.

Places are limited to ensure optimal learning. Tuition payment is required in full at the beginning of the term to secure a place.

Your Tutor
The Tutor Jack Randell has a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Honours, College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales. Jack is a well-known visual artist whose practice includes painting, film, public art, exhibition curation and large scale expressive murals. Jack has exhibited widely in Australia and overseas and won several awards and residencies. A qualified educator of many years, Jack’s approach is patient and practical, using demonstration to bring out the best for his students.
Our Learning Agreement and Terms and Conditions

The learner is asked to participate in a cooperative manner, showing respect to the tutor and fellow learners. The group will engage in practical studio-based activities and participants must show care for the equipment supplied and the premises occupied. Learners will be shown how to clean and store equipment and will be expected to do so, by way of good studio practice.
In a creative environment, coercive or aggressive behaviour is unacceptable. The learner should report concerns on these points to the tutor or parent immediately should they occur. Breaches may result in the learner forfeiting their place in the program.

From time to time we take photos during class of students and artworks. These photos are used for ArtClubDub’s promotional purposes such as press advertising, brochures, social media, editorials and website. These photos will never be sold and will be used exclusively by and for ArtClubDub. As a Condition of Enrolment your consent is implied. Should you not wish for us to take and use photos of you, your child or your artwork please notify us in writing.
Cancellation up to two weeks before the commencement of the class will incur a $50 admin fee.
Cancellation after two weeks before classes start can be a credit toward another class.
