Where to start with your mural idea! Class One will reveal techniques for planning and designing your mural project. From the basics of negotiating a design with all involved, to the practical useful methods for painting on site in a safe and sustainable way with participants regardless of skill level.
Learn how to select a site for a mural. What comes first in a mural. Learn the design rules for large scale artworks including scaled plans. Learn about software applications that facilitate design ideation.
In Class Two, we learn about permission negotiation, legal and safety, team building, materials, drawing, and painting murals in various scenarios. The big question I’m always asked- “how do you stop graffiti?” find the answer in this program!

Your Tutor
The Tutor Jack Randell has a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Honours, College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales. Jack is a well-known visual artist whose practice includes painting, film, public art, exhibition curation and large scale expressive murals. Jack has exhibited widely in Australia and overseas and won several awards and residencies. A qualified educator of many years, Jack’s approach is patient and practical, using demonstration to bring out the best for his students.
Our Learning Agreement and Terms and Conditions

The learner is asked to participate in a cooperative manner, showing respect to the tutor and fellow learners. The group will engage in practical studio-based activities and participants must show care for the equipment supplied and the premises occupied. Learners will be shown how to clean and store equipment and will be expected to do so, by way of good studio practice.
In a creative environment, coercive or aggressive behaviour is unacceptable. The learner should report concerns on these points to the tutor or parent immediately should they occur. Breaches may result in the learner forfeiting their place in the program.

From time to time we take photos during class of students and artworks. These photos are used for ArtClubDub’s promotional purposes such as press advertising, brochures, social media, editorials and website. These photos will never be sold and will be used exclusively by and for ArtClubDub. As a Condition of Enrolment your consent is implied. Should you not wish for us to take and use photos of you, your child or your artwork please notify us in writing.
Cancellation up to two weeks before the commencement of the class will incur a $50 admin fee.
Cancellation after two weeks before classes start can be a credit toward another class.
