Waste2Art workshop for Kids
Waste2Art ‘Year of Toys’
Saturday 15 February 2025
Juniors and Teens
1pm-3pm
Budding young artists are invited to join Art Club to create and submit an art work for the Waste2Art competition. In this workshop we will meet the objectives for entry into the Waste 2Art Competition which closes on 21 February 2025.
2025 Waste 2 Art theme is ‘The Year of Toys’. According to Clean Up Australia, 27 million toys are thrown out every year.
This workshop will involve using old or broken toys and other recycled materials to create a toy inspired artwork that we can submit for exhibition. We will encourage ideas to reduce, reuse & recycle and our attitudes about the things we throw away.
The Waste 2 Art exhibition fosters environmental awareness and creativity within the community by transforming discarded materials into art, highlighting the potential for reuse and recycling.
ArtClub is a long-term supporter of the Waste 2 Art initiative that offers an innovative approach to waste education.
This year the Waste2Art Dubbo Exhibition will be held at Western Plains Cultural Centre, 8 March - 25 May 2025.
